Leadership
The church’s head is Jesus Christ alone (Col 1:18). One primary way that Christ shepherds, ministers to, and builds up his church is through those He has called/ordained to the ministry. Those who are called do not function like CEO’s of a business but rather as servants who shepherd the flock willingly and joyfully (1 Pe 5:6-7) and as ones who will give an account to God for how they care for the flock (Heb 13:17).
Christ’s church is to be led by a plurality of elders. At Clear Water Presbyterian Church, we have Pastor serving as a Church Planter and have a Provisional (Session) Elder Board while the church moves towards selecting elders from within the church in the coming future. The Provisional Session consists of elders from other PCA churches nearby who provide regular oversight and support.
Pastor Ben Leatherberry
Ben grew up nearby in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He received his Undergraduate Degree from University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and completed his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando). He, along with his bride Lindsey and their five children, happily live in Eau Claire and have loved the adventure of planting a church there!
Marcus Smith - Church Planting Apprentice
Marcus grew up in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Marcus received his Undergraduate Degree from Wheaton College and his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary (Jackson). He and his wife, Seija, reside in Eau Claire and can likely be found hanging out at a Culvers near you. Marcus is serving as a Church Planting Apprentice with the hopes of planting a church in Western Wisconsin in the years to come.
